I am setup for STP
Select Tax Year: 2019/20
Finalising your Single Touch Payroll data
Employers who started reporting in the 2019-20 financial year have until 31 July 2020
You will be required to "finalise" each employees payroll record for the year in order to let the Tax Office know when it has been completed. You may need to manually include any reportable fringe benefits or reportable superannuation contributions prior to finalising. This process is called a 'finalisation declaration' and it will occur by providing an indicator in your payroll software for each employee. Once you have provided the finalisation indicator for the employee, the ATO will pre-fill the employee's income tax return and display the information as 'tax ready' in myGov.
You can make a finalisation declaration for an employee any time during the financial year (terminated employees).
If you need more time, you can apply for an extended due date to make your finalisation declaration.
If you need any assistance in finalising your STP for the 2019-20 financial year please contact us.
